
Two Humphrey School Students to Present at the IPID Spring Conference
The Interdisciplinary Perspectives on International Development (IPID) Conference will convene from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 12, at the Law School. The theme of this year's conference is "Manifestations of Conflict: Resources, Migration, Religion, and Politics." Xiaoyun Shen (MPP '12) will give a talk titled "Reasons and Solutions to Unrest and Mass Disturbances in China since 2008" and Erik Sande's (MPP '11) presentation is titled "What
is UN Sanctions’ Role in Limiting/Ending Internal Conflicts? How could
They be Improved to be More Effective in Limiting the Spread and
Duration of Conflicts?" Click here to register.
Center for Transportation Studies Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon
On Wednesday, April 17, at the McNamara Alumni Center, join members and friends of the Center for Transportation Studies (CTS) committees to recognize annual accomplishments and highlight new initiatives at CTS for the upcoming year. The Economy, Safety, and Traffic Flows Councils will meet before the luncheon and the Education and Outreach, Planning and the Environment, and Infrastructure Councils will meet after the luncheon. Register here by April 12 for the luncheon and council meetings; the fee is $20 for the luncheon.
Apply for the Mondale Research Fellowship
The aim of the Mondale Research Fellowship is to encourage research on elected government
officials whose service in office improved the state and the
opportunities of its citizens. Applicants for the fellowship must
prepare a written proposal detailing a research project on an elected
Minnesota government official and his or her enduring contribution to
the lives of Minnesotans. Students in high school, college, and graduate
school, as well as faculty members and non-academic researchers are
