HUBERT H. HUMPHREY PUBLIC LEADERSHIP AWARDS
On June 3, 2008, the Humphrey Institute honored the recipients of the 2008 Hubert H. Humphrey Public Leadership Awards at the McNamara Alumni Center. This year’s recipients were Ward B. Chamberlin, Jr., public broadcasting pioneer and co-founder of AFS Intercultural Programs; Jane C. Freeman, Minnesota’s former First Lady, longtime political activist, and friend of the University of Minnesota; and the Honorable Al Quie, former governor of Minnesota. The awards ceremony also recognized Humphrey Institute alumnae Jennifer Godinez, associate director of Minnesota Minority Education Partnership, Inc., and Kiely Todd Roska, a dedicated advocate for advancing the leadership of young women in Minnesota.
