DEAN ATWOOD TESTIFIED ABOUT FOREIGN AID REFORM
Dean J. Brian Atwood testified in front of the U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs Wednesday, June 25, 2008. As former administrator of USAID, he addressed "Foreign Assistance Reform: Rebuilding U.S. Civilian Development and Diplomatic Capacity in the 21st Century."
In his remarks, Atwood offered his views on the need to strengthen U.S. civilian development and diplomatic capacity. He expressed his concern about the "erosion of our civilian capacities at a time when threats to our national interests require a civilian as well as a military response."
