Political scientist will lecture on “Bush's Disconnect” February 22

The suggested disconnect between the Bush administration and the American public is the topic of a lecture from Northwestern Professor Ben Page from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, February 22, in Cowles Auditorium. Vice President Walter Mondale will moderate this free program sponsored by the Center for the Study of Politics and Governance.

Page is the Gordon S. Fulcher Professor of Decision Making in the political science department at Northwestern University. His research interests include public opinion and policymaking, the political economy, the presidency, and American foreign policy. He is a prolific writer and author of seven books, including The Rational Public: Fifty Years of Trends in American's Policy Preferences (coauthored with Robert Shapiro).

The Center for the Study of Politics and Governance works to develop solutions to political and policy challenges. The center provides non-partisan research and forums to foster more effective and efficient governance, increase the transparency of government processes, and rebuild public trust in order to counteract negative influences that threaten our democracy. For more information on the center and its activities, contact Lea Chittenden at (612) 625-2530.
