| Dean Atwood asked to join reform effort in Equatorial Guinea In 2006, the U.S. Agency for International
Development (USAID) and the Government of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea
(GREG) agreed to work together to improve the country's social services
in the areas of health, education, women's issues, and sanitation. Dean

Atwood was recently named to the administrative council charged with overseeing
this effort and administering dollars from the Fund
for Social Development.
The council is mainly comprised of internationally recognized development experts
who will advise the work supported by the fund while fostering transparency
and accountability in the design, implementation, and evaluation of social needs
projects.
USAID's technical support of the fund is managed through USAID's West
Africa Regional Program in Accra, Ghana.
Atwood will travel to Equatorial Guinea for the council's first meeting
on June 20, 2007.
