| JAY KIEDROWSKI APPOINTED AS A SENIOR FELLOW WITH THE HUMPHREY INSTITUTE OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS
The Hubert H. Humphrey Institute for Public Affairs announced that it has appointed
Wells Fargo executive Jay Kiedrowski as a senior fellow with its Center for
Leadership of Nonprofits, Philanthropy, and the Public Sector. As a senior fellow,
Kiedrowski will teach leadership, organizational development, and public finance
courses and provide research and project management for activities of the center.
Kiedrowski has decades of experience in public service and the private sector.
He joined Norwest in 1987 as a vice president of mutual funds. One year later,
he was named senior Vice president of personal trust and, in 1991, was named
executive vice president of Norwest Investment Management and Trust. In 1996,
he was chosen as president of Norwest Investment Management, Inc. and, in 1998,
assumed his final position as executive vice President and manager of the Institutional
Investments Group in the merged Norwest/Wells Fargo organization. He retired
from Wells Fargo in 2004.
Before joining Norwest, Kiedrowski was Commissioner of Finance and Chief Financial
Officer for the State of Minnesota under Governor Rudy Perpich. Prior to that,
he was the Budget Director for the City of Minneapolis under Mayors Hofstede
and Fraser. He started his career working for the Minnesota Senate in urban
and tax research.
"Jay Kiedrowski is a true renaissance man," said Humphrey Institute
Dean J. Brian Atwood. "He has a long career in public service, extensive
experience in the private sector, and a recognized leadership role in a number
of nonprofit and philanthropic organizations. He understands perfectly the nexus
of these three sectors and is an ideal addition to the Institute's Center for
Leadership of Nonprofits, Philanthropy, and the Public Sector."
As a senior fellow, Kiedrowski will add to the center's efforts to create an
undergraduate nonprofit/public management minor with the Carlson School of Management;
develop, in partnership with the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits, a quarterly
survey of the financial condition of Minnesota nonprofits; and help to understand
public sector leadership challenges. The Center for Leadership of Nonprofits, Philanthropy, and the Public Sector
works to enhance the leadership of institutions that serve the public and their
ability to work together effectively to advance the common good and serve the
public interest. The center is unique in the United States in its concentration
on all three institutions that serve the public and its focus on furthering
understanding of how and when cross-sectoral partnerships are effective mechanisms
to solve complex public problems and advance the common good. |
