| CENTER ON WOMEN AND PUBLIC POLICY TO HOST CONVERSATION ON HEALTHY SEXUALITY FEBRUARY 26
The Center on Women and Public Policy at the Humphrey Institute and Planned Parenthood of Minnesota/South Dakota's Global Partners will host a stimulating discussion on overcoming social and cultural taboos to talk about healthy sexuality with young people on Thursday, February 26, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in Cowles Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
The program will feature international guests from the family planning clinic of La Fundacisn Mexicana para la Planeacisn Familiar or Mexfam, a member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation. Reaching nearly every state in Mexico, Mexfam has been a pioneer organization in the fields of family planning, community health, sexual education and health/gender perspectives, the use of emergency contraception, and the fight against domestic violence.
Former Minnesota Commissioner of Health Jan Malcolm will give the keynote address, followed by a panel discussion of health disparities, teen sexual health education, and Mexfam's Gente Joven (Young People) program that is the leading sexual education program in Mexico, reaching more than 1 million youth.
