Teresa Michelle Obrero is a dual degree student in public policy and social work originally from Ohio. She has found her niche at the Humphrey Institute, exploring her interest in aging policy through volunteer work, coursework, and an internship at the VA Medical Center. "It's important that social workers and others who provide direct care understand the policymaking process," she says, "and that people responsible for policy know what's happening on the ground."
Teresa enjoys the close community at the Humphrey Institute, as well as the breadth of opportunities that a major research university provides. She loves the diversity and vibrancy of the Twin Cities and she even embraces the Minnesota winters, riding her bike to and from school all year round.
