
The International Fellowship Programs is proud of its alumni from all over the world, which grows every year as we welcome new fellows to our program. After the completion of their fellowship, our fellows return home and continue their work as effective agents of social and political change. Eliana Sousa Silva receives the 2009 Distinguished Leadership Award for Internationals (DLAI)Our 2007-2008 Humphrey Fellow from Brazil, Ms. Eliana Sousa Silva is the proud recipient of the 2009 DLAI award. She was nominated by Prof. Deborah Levinson for her advocacy work and research around youth violence and police brutality in poor communities surrounding large urban centers in Brazil. As the director of the Department of Integration of University and Community at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, she currently creates linkages between civil society activists and the policy-making sectors to advance a more inclusive discourse on the challenge of promoting human rights. |

Marc Amblard appointed as the Inspector General of the Liberia National Police (LNP)Mr. Marc Amblard, our Liberian - U.S. Ambassador's Fellow, 2008 - 2009, was recently appointed as the Inspector General of the Liberia National Police (LNP). During his fellowship at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, Mr. Amblard completed his Professional Affiliation with the Brooklyn Park Police Department (BPPD) where he studied processes and methods of policing and law enforcement in the United States. |
