Cairo Workshop 2008 Agenda

Dear Participants:

You will see that the agenda has different roles for participants.  Below I briefly explain what is expected of these roles.

Kick-off Comments:  Those assigned this role are expected to provide roughly five minutes of comments that are intended to get the conversation going.  It is important that you stick to the time limit as much as possible, which means consider identifying 2-3 questions or observations that you would like to see discussed.

Session Leaders: Those assigned to this role are expected to read the papers in the group and provide specific comments and broader observations.  Please limit your formal commentary to 10 minutes.

Research Presentations:  You can assume that those in your group (session leaders and other presenters) have read your paper.  Consequently, you should limit your presentation to five minutes, identifying either important arguments in the paper and/or their relationship to the conference’s themes.

Please Note: We have less than 2 hours for those sessions dedicated to research presentations, and if everyone sticks to their time limit then we have consumed 30 minutes of the time scheduled.

For others not on the “program” for a specific research presentation session, you are expected to attend one of the two groups.  Consequently, while you are not expected to have read in detail all of the papers, you ideally will have a familiarity with the arguments.
