A message from Dean Eric Schwartz

November 11 is Veterans Day. On behalf of the Humphrey School, I want to express our deepest appreciation for the contributions and the sacrifices of those members of our community who have served in the armed forces. Over the past two years, in my former position at the U.S. Department of State, I traveled to many regions in conflict, from Iraq, to Afghanistan and Pakistan, to the Horn of Africa, and others. 

In all of these trips, I had the distinct honor of meeting with the men and women of the U.S. military and hearing their views and perspectives. Time and again, I was overwhelmed and inspired by their commitment to serve. I want to express special appreciation to those veterans who are studying at the Humphrey, as their continued dedication to public service is a shining example for us all.
