We are committed to providing leadership in research, teaching, and outreach related to diversity and social change; recruiting and retaining diverse students, faculty members, and staff; developing curricula that reflect the multicultural world in which we live; and raising scholarship funds to offer financial support to underrepresented students. In 2010, the University's Office for Equity and Diversity recognized the Humphrey School for its efforts with an Equity and Diversity Outstanding Unit Award. This year, for the fourth consecutive year, the School won a University-wide award for being a leader in buying goods and services from businesses owned by women and minorities.
The Humphrey School of Public Affairs recently was chosen to receive the inaugural Diversity Award given by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA), the 275-member organization that promotes excellence in education and training for public service. The newly created award recognizes the public affairs or public policy program that "exemplifies the highest standards of promoting and supporting diversity in research, teaching, and/or service."
