Unlike international relations, which focuses on the relationship among countries, global public policy takes an international and transnational view of policy issues. Such global concerns as climate change, humanitarianism, infectious disease, protection and management of natural resources require a global perspective. International relations withing a master's degree program can be highly theoretical, while our Global Public Policy concentration includes both deep theoretical grounding and an understanding or current global policy issues.
Global public policy encompasses a range of possible concentrations focused on interdisciplinary study of international and transnational issue areas. Students interested in concentrations in the global public policy area should schedule a meeting with Sherry Gray, the area coordinator, to discuss study and career goals, including internship and professional paper or Capstone planning.
