MPA Scholarships + Financial Aid

The Humphrey School of Public Affairs offers a number of merit-based awards in the form of assistantships, fellowships, and scholarships to incoming students each year. These awards are highly competitive. For consideration, all required application materials must be submitted and received by May 31

MPA Merit-Based Aid

 

The Humphrey School is pleased to offer a variety of scholarships and fellowships which are made possible through generous friends and alumni of the School. The following awards do not require an additional application from incoming students unless otherwise noted.

William A. Diaz Fellowship – Intended to support students in nonprofit management. Preference will be given to students interested in philanthropy.

Dick Graham/DARTS – For mid-career Master of Public Affairs (MPA) students at the Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs who have demonstrated a commitment to community-based nonprofit leadership and exemplary leadership potential. Priority consideration will be given to talented students who articulate a vision for widening the circle of community and leading effective community change at a grass-roots level.

Thomas H. Swain Fellowship in Public Leadership – Priority is given to Minnesota residents and US citizens who demonstrate evidence or promise of contributing to public leadership in Minnesota. Students must complete their degrees within three years.The award is intended for students who plan to study civic engagement or public leadership.
