The Center on Women and Public Policy was a co-sponsor of The Eleventh Annual International Women's Day Celebration, organized by Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights and the Human Rights Program at the University of Minnesota on Saturday, March 4, 2006.

The event included a keynote address by Naomi Tutu entitled, "Women's Rights are Human Rights," many fantastic panels and workshops, as well as information tables sponsored by organizations across Minnesota.

The Center on Women and Public Policy sponsored a Plenary Panel called "Get Active: Minnesota Women Organize Across Cultures." The panel included Susana de Leon, Peggy Flanagan, Farheen Hakeem, Pakou Hang, and Nyango Melissa Nambangi. Sally Kenney moderated the panel.
