Feminist Internships

A professional-level internship consisting of a minimum of 400 hours of work is required for the Master of Public Policy degree and the Master of Urban Regional Planning degree. Through their internships, students gain professional experiences and skills, apply earned knowledge, and test the water of the women and public policy world.

International Internships

Working for social change with women from other countries is a positively life-altering experience, but one that requires effort and planning to bring about. Because we believe in the value of hands-on international learning experiences, we have prepared an internship guide for interested students.

National Internships

Many students intern in Minnesota and beyond, especially Washington, D.C. Planning for a productive national internship requires thought and planning. Here are some examples of host organizations and projects.

Congressional Fellowships on Women & Public Policy

Women's Research & Education Institute (WREI) awards annual Congressional fellowships to a selected number of graduate students. Several students from the Humphrey School have been awarded the fellowships and worked on the Capitol Hill for eight months.

Internships Grant Opportunities

Humphrey School and University of Minnesota offer grants to support graduate and professional students conducting their internships, including our Women & Public Policy Internship Grants.
