The Center on Women and Public Policy partners with the Global Policy area and the International Fellows Program at the Humphrey School to advance scholarship on international women's human rights and support students concentrating their studies and research in the area.
The Center on Women and Public Policy offers internship stipends. The pupose of the program is to encourage students to work with grassroots feminist organizations that lack the resources to pay an intern; to enhance students' abilities to pursue job placements closely related to their career goals; to provide financial support for students who might otherwise choose to waive the internship requirements; to serve the women's community. Higher stipends are available for international internships to help cover travel costs.
The Center on Women and Public Policy has co-sponsored a variety of events focused on international women's rights such as International Women's Day, the International Women's Human Rights Film Series and a book and panel discussion on Half the Sky.
The Center's case study project produced case studies in women and public policy. Cases foucsed on international issues include:
"A Fair Representation: Advocating for Women's Rights in the International Criminal Court"
"Gag Me: Money versus Mission?"
International Fellows Program The International Fellowship Programs bring mid-career professionals and scholars committed to public service from around the world to the Humphrey School for professional enrichment, leadership development, and cultural exchange
Human Rights Program The Graduate Minor/Concentration in Human Rights provides students in the Graduate School at the University, as well as professional students in the Humphrey School and the Law School and opportunity to gain interdisciplinary expertise in the study of human rights laws and mechanisms.
