Public Policy is gendered. Men and women are affected differently by public policies, and they participate differently in the public policy making process. Public policies are an important component in the ongoing construction of gender differences and a site where gender is resisted and renegotiated.
The Center on Women and Public Policy educates, supports, and inspires women leaders; applies a gender lens across the public policy spectrum; conducts cutting edge, action oriented, community-engaged public policy research; and convenes and connects across divides to bring down barriers to gender equity and build broad-based public responses.
