The Humphrey School is one of the few policy schools in the country that offers courses on women and policy, and students from across the world come here to pursue a concentration in women and public policy while obtaining a Master of Public Policy, Master of Urban and Regional Planning, mid-career Master of Public Affairs, or Master of Science.
The faculty and fellows of the Humphrey School have strong expertise in the issues of employment discrimination, feminist economics, feminist organizations, population policy, women's human rights, and women's leadership. Students also can draw on the University's outstanding faculty in other departments, particularly women's studies and feminist studies.
Center on Women and Public Policy alumni are bringing a gender lens to government, non-profit and private organizations throughout Minnesota, the nation and the world.
Check out the important gender research being conducted by Humphrey School students.
Students must take PA 5601 Survey of Women, Law, and Public Policy in the U.S. The concentration requires nine credits as well as a seminar (PA 8081) or workshop (PA 8082) in women and public policy. Beyond these requirements, students should take advantage of the opportunity to define their own concentrations.
