Vicki Lovell

Vicky Lovell is a study director at the Institute for Women’s Policy Research (IWPR). She has a Ph.D. in public policy, with concentrations in labor economics and the policymaking process. Her work focuses on issues related to women’s employment and economic security, including wages and job opportunities, employment-based benefits, pay equity, family and medical leave and other paid time-off policies, and unemployment insurance. She has provided extensive technical assistance in several states on the development and evaluation of paid family and medical leave proposals. Dr. Lovell’s research has been published in Feminist Economics, the Journal of Global Awareness, and the volume Strengthening Community: Social Insurance in a Diverse America. Her most recent IWPR publication is No Time to be Sick: Why Everyone Suffers When Workers Don’t Have Adequate Paid Sick Leave.
