Repower Minnesota Town Hall Aptil 17th 11:45-1:15

Watch or Listen to the Event Recording

This Town Hall will explore the issues and opportunities that could come from aggressively pursuing new energy and economic policies.  Washington has passed a stimulus package and is now about to consider energy and climate policies that could stimulate private investment and innovation to develop new, domestic, renewable energy sources.  It is important to discuss mechanisms for maximizing on-the-ground investments creating jobs today and infrastructure for a future economy tomorrow.

2009 presents Minnesota with a unique moment in history.  The state and the nation find themselves in a triple crisis through a deep economic downturn, a proximate need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and a growing recognition of our energy dependence on foreign fuel sources.  What is Washington doing and what can be done to repower, refuel and rebuild our economy?  Is Minnesota positioned to benefit and can it lead the way?  These concepts will be addressed by a panel of experts and a dialogue will follow that covers topics raised by business, academic and civic leaders.
