The Humphrey Institute's State and Local Policy Program has been working with the University of Minnesota's Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Institute to conduct a set of federally sponsored studies on how transportation systems can be planned to accommodate an increasingly complex technological environment. |

TechPlan Projects
Six projects are currently funded by TechPlan and research is underway. Each research team focuses on a project that incorporates their vast knowledge in their respective area of expertise with the challenges of transportation planning in the current technological era.

| TechPlan Roundtables
The TechPlan program has hosted two Roundtable events, one in June 2006 and one in September 2007. During Roundtables, TechPlan researchers, recognized ITS/transportation scholars, and local practitioners come together to discuss current research and its long-term implications for transportation policy. In addition, new project proposals are presented and discussed by an external peer review panel. |
