| Format and Agenda The Invitational Roundtable will feature noted researchers working on this
general subject, complemented by seasoned professionals who will be asked to discuss some of the management challenges inherent in contemporary transportation planning and design. We have deliberately kept the size of the roundtable to approximately 10-15 participants in order to ensure a stimulating yet informal discussion.
The first part of the roundtable will feature an acadmeic panel that will outline the influence that complexity theory has had on their research relating to the planning and managment of transportation systems. We will then turn to the management panel for a "reality input" on the the management challenges to dealing with a complex infrastructure such as transportation.
