Bridging Research and Practice

The PNLC offers a variety of different tracks for students. Review your options below, and contact the PNLC with questions.

Master of Public Policy Program

Many MPP graduate students choose a concentration in public and nonprofit leadership and management. PNLC faculty and fellows developed the core curriculum of the concentration, providing coursework in governance, strategic planning, social policy implementation, and public and nonprofit finance. Visit www.hhh.umn.edu/academics/
gradprograms/mpp/index.html
for more information.

Master of Public Affairs Program

The Master of Public Affairs for mid-career professionals is the Humphrey Institute’s newest degree program and can be completed in one calendar year of full-time enrollment. Established in 1999, the core curriculum emphasizes leadership and policymaking theory and practice, and students design their own area of concentration around their career interests. The MPA prepares students to assume leadership positions, make career changes, and enhance current work skills. For additional information, visit www.hhh.umn.edu/academics/gradprograms/mpa/index.htm.
