Six Ways to Rock Your Public Affairs Career

This information-packed workshop featured 3 of the Twin Cities' leading professionals to discuss concrete steps for advancing a career in the public sector.
Held on April 5, 2011, the event was STANDING ROOM ONLY!

Participants learned 6 expert tips on how to:
- Develop expertise
- Build a strong network
- Establish a great personal brand
- Practice authentic leadership
- Plan for balance
- Move on up

Our workshop featured:
- Trista Harris--a Humphrey School grad, Executive Director of the Headwaters Foundation for Justice, and co-author of How to Become a Nonprofit Rockstar
-
Lars Leafblad--a principal at KeyStone Search who was recently named "the most networked man in the Twin Cities" by Minnesota Business magazine in 2010
- William Delaney, a Humphrey School grad (MURP) and Real Estate Specialist at Hope Community, Inc., a nonprofit community development corporation

This event was made possible by a generous grant from Susan and Bert Gross.  It was co-sponsored by the Humphrey School Office of Career Services.

* Our Students Spoke:  We Listened!  This event is a result of a series of student engagement forums held with Humphrey students last fall.
