Creating Policy Spaces with Civil Society: Challenges of Inclusiveness, Accountability and Repression

 

Dr. Alnoor Ebrahim, Harvard Business School, focuses on issues facingnonprofit and civil society organizations. He heads a global team studying how nonprofits create systemic change by influencing national policies on poverty, and works with nonprofits on the challenges of organizational learning in urban poverty contexts.

 

On April 1st, 2009, Ebrahim spoke about a project that examines the efforts of civil society organizations to influence national policy dialogues in six countries of the global South, including India, Bangladesh, Brazil, Bolivia, South Africa, and Uganda.
