Conducted: January 18-27, 2008
Completions: 917 total respondents
Modes used: telephone
Weights: wgt
The sample of telephone exchanges called was randomly selected by a computer from a list of active residential exchanges within the State of Minnesota. Within each exchange, random digits were added to form a complete telephone number, thus permitting access to both listed and unlisted numbers. The sample was designed to represent different regions of the state in proportion to the number of adults living in each region. Within each household, one adult was selected to be the respondent for the survey.
The response rate for the survey was 27.08%, calculated using the Response Rate 3 formula developed by the American Association for Public Opinion Research (http://www.aapor.org/pdfs/standarddefs_4.pdf).
The final disposition codes for the survey were:
| Interviews | 917 | |
|---|---|---|
| Partial Interviews | 82 | |
| Refusal and Break-Off | 1123 | |
| Non-Contact | 351 | |
| Unknown if Household | 1827 | |
| Not Eligible | 4691 |
The results have been weighted to reflect different probabilities of selection based on the number of adults in a household and the number of telephone lines reaching the household. Results were also weighted to reflect the demographic characteristics of Minnesota based on region, sex, age, education, and race.
