2008 Candidate Forums: Third Congressional District with David Dillon

The Congressional Role in Creating the Next Long-Term Economic Boom

The Center for the Study of Politics and Governance hosted a series of public forums with the major party candidates for Minnesota's 3rd Congressional District seat to foster informed and substantive discussion of important matters of public policy. The forums created an opportunity for the candidates to rise above the talking points and fractious back-and-forth of the campaign to address the substantive policy challenges facing Minnesota and the country. It also created a forum for students and citizens to listen and raise questions with their elected officials.

David Dillon was born and raised in Minneapolis. Dillon attended the University of Minnesota where he studied chemistry and economics. He graduated in 1979 with a BSB from the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Business. Immediately following graduation, he joined the family business, The Meyers Printing Companies, Inc. David is also the inventor of the Verify Brand numeric token anti-counterfeit system, an Internet technology that is gaining a worldwide reputation as the best approach to protect pharmaceuticals from counterfeiting. David has lived in the Third District for the last twenty years, first in Bloomington and now in the Excelsior area. David has been active in community affairs as Co Chair of the 2007 Hennepin County Library Technology Task Force, as a participant with the Citizen's League, with the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, as a past board member of the Lupus Foundation, and with the Health Fund of Minnesota.
