National Conference on the Future of Election Reform

In 2007, the Center for the Study of Politics and Governance at the University of Minnesota's Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs launched the Program for Excellence in Election Administration. Minnesota has long been a leader in developing independent, non-partisan, well-trained election administrators who consistently rank among the best in the nation. The program brings together non-partisan administrators and expert analysts from the region and nation to share innovations and strategies for fair and effective elections administration.

The conference will include presentations by Norm Ornstein from the American Enterprise Institute, Doug Chapin from Electionline.org, Beverly Kaufman, County Clerk from Harris County, Texas, as well as reports from a number of experts on prominent election reform issues from around the country.

The conference is organized by The Program for Excellence in Election Administration at the Center for the Study of Politics and Governance at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey School of Public Affairs. The Program for Excellence in Election Administration is a nonpartisan and independent program dedicated to improving training and research related to addressing key challenges facing election administrators and legislators setting election policy.
