"The state Legislature is considering a plan that calls for an open-air baseball park in downtown Minneapolis that would cost 522 million dollars. Twins owner Carl Pohlad has agreed to contribute about one-fourth of that. To finance the remaining 392 million, the plan calls for increasing the current sales tax only in Hennepin County by three cents on every 20 dollars spent. Do you approve or disapprove of this plan as a way to get the Twins a new ballpark?"

"The current plan calls for an open-air ballpark in downtown Minneapolis that would cost about 478 million dollars. Twins owner Carl Pohlad has agreed to contribute about one fourth of that. To finance the remaining 353 million, the proposal calls for increasing the current sales tax only in Hennepin County by another three cents on every 20 dollars spent. Do you approve or disapprove of this plan as a way to get the Twins a new ballpark?"

"Do you think the state Legislature should approve the sales tax increase for a Twins stadium, or should Hennepin County voters be able to decide in a referendum if they want the tax increase?"

"The Twins want a retractable roof on this new ballpark and say they will encourage the state to help cover the cost of one, which would be an additional 100 million dollars. Do you favor or oppose using public money to help pay for a retractable roof?"

"(There are two proposals specifically for a University of Minnesota Gophers football stadium) ... One plan calls for a Gophers football stadium that would cost about 248 million dollars. The state would provide half of the funding, a private company would contribute $35 million to have its name on the stadium, students would pay a yearly $50 fee, and the university would raise the remainder from private contributors. Do you approve or disapprove of this plan to get the Gophers a new stadium?"

"Another plan that might be used calls for a University of Minnesota Gophers football stadium that would cost about 248 million dollars. The state would provide nearly three-fourths of the funding, and the university would have to raise the remainder from private contributors. Do you approve or disapprove of this plan to get the Gophers a new stadium?"

"The Legislature is also considering a plan that calls for an additional one-half percent sales tax in the seven-county metro area that would pay for a Twin baseball stadium, a Vikings football stadium, and a major expansion of transit projects such as light rail and busways. The Twins and Vikings would pay one-fourth to one-third of the cost of the stadiums. Voters would have to approve this sales tax in a referendum. Do you approve or disapprove of this plan to get the Twins stadium, the Vikings stadium, and additional transit projects in the metro area?"
