HUMPHREY ALUMNI CREATE OPPORTUNITY FOR STUDENTS:
The Public Strategies Group has established the Laurie Ohmann Fellowship (MPlan ’88) in recognition of her service to public sector redesign. The Ohmann Fellowship will be awarded to students who possess strong interest in community building and increasing their own capacity to bring about change in public policy or service delivery systems. Paul R. Stembler (MA '75) and his wife, Dr. Mary A. Ebert, recently established the Ebert-Stembler Internship Fund that will provide two awards to support students who are pursuing unpaid internships with nonprofit organizations this summer. HUMPHREY ALUMNA CHANDRA PLOWDEN — FIRST YWCA RACIAL JUSTICE FELLOW:
The Racial Justice and Public Policy Fellowship is the vision of Humphrey Alumni Board Member Anita Patel (MPP '02), YWCA Vice President of Racial Justice and Public Policy. “The YWCA’s mission is the elimination of racism and empowerment of women and girls. This fellowship challenges students from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs to use their graduate-level education in public policy to examine the practical, real-world impact of policy and look for intersections with racial justice.” (Read about Chandra's research)
