The Humphrey School of Public Affairs is the University of
Minnesota's school of policy and planning.


2012-13 Alumni Board of Directors

The Humphrey School Alumni Board plays a key role in promoting and achieving the mission of the Humphrey School by providing an effective vehicle for alumni involvement. The Alumni Board has a unique position in facilitating the sharing of practitioner-based experience and promoting the School among key partners.

Meeting Schedule

Meetings are open to all alumni and friends of the Humphrey School. Meetings are held in Wilkins Room (215) at the Humphrey School, unless otherwise noted.

Application for Alumni Board

Purpose

The Board fulfills its purpose by building relationships among School alumni, students, prospective students, faculty members, and friends; facilitating alumni and student activities; supporting the student experience through opportunities for professional growth and scholarship; and promoting excellence within the School and among its alumni.

Vision

The alumni board will help the Humphrey School foster and sustain strong relationships with its alumni and students in order to broaden career and networking opportunities, support students in completing their degrees, and promote excellence in public affairs.

Commitment to Diversity

The Humphrey School Alumni Board endorses the School's mission statement and strategic goals and further endorses its commitment to diversity. The alumni board commits to maintaining a diverse membership and actively supporting diversity via the Humphrey Alumni Scholars program, mentor program, and other initiatives that connect alumni with students.

Board Member Responsibilities

The Humphrey School alumni board organizes events and sponsors activities that allow alumni to benefit personally, intellectually, and professionally through involvement with current students and programs at the School and the greater University. Service on the alumni board of directors is a valuable way in which graduates "give back" to the School.
