Personal Statement Tips
- Keep it to 500 words double spaced, statements that excessively exceed this requirement will not be read.
- Your statement should discuss: Why you want to pursue this degree, what in your past has led you to want to pursue it, what has prepared you to pursue this degree and what to you want to in the future after you have obtained this degree
- Look at our financial aid page. If there is a scholarship/fellowship with particular qualifications make sure you mention those qualifications in your statement.
- If there is a particular faculty member that you are interested in working with, mention them in your statement.
