Funding Opportunities for Current Students

If you are a current student, you may be eligible for one of these financial aid programs.

Richard Bolan Award – Tuition grant of $2,000 to $6,000 awarded to MURP students. The deadline for applications is April 20. Learn more about the Richard Bolan Award.

Foreign Language & Area Studies (FLAS) – FLAS offers a $15,000 stipend plus up to $18,000 for tuition/fees for the academic year, or a $2,500 stipend plus up to $5,000 tuition/fees for summer study. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents. Students should review application materials and requirements . Current students must have all FLAS application materials into the Graduate Student Services office (Humphrey 280) by January 15. Please note the February deadline is for Humphrey Graduate Student Services to submit nominations.

Humphrey Alumni Scholars –- These $1,000 to $5,000 tuition grants are based on scholarship, professional promise, community service, and financial need. The deadline for applications is 4:30pm Monday, April 15, 2013. Students should access the application instructions to learn more about the Humphrey Alumni Scholars grants.

Jonas Schwartz Award– $1,000 to $4,500 is awarded to a student demonstrating outstanding community service. Please submit a Humphrey Alumni Scholars application to 300 HHH c/o Courtney Barrette or electronically to hhhalum@umn.edu to apply. The deadline for applications is 4:30pm Monday, April 15, 2013.

Gayle R. Zoffer Award – $1,000 to $4,500 awarded by Humphrey Alumni Scholars to a student with interest in women and public policy. Please submit a Humphrey Alumni Scholars application to 300 HHH c/o Courtney Barrette or electronically to hhhalum@umn.edu to apply. The deadline for applications is 4:30pm Monday, April 15, 2013.

Internship grants –- The Humphrey School and University of Minnesota have a number of small grants available to support unpaid and international internships.
