| FUNDRAISING AT THE INSTITUTE
How can you help?
Our staff would be happy to speak with you about how you can make a lasting impact at the Humphrey Institute. While we’re open to any ideas you may have to make the Institute a better place, there are three areas that are currently our highest priorities. These areas include:
Student financial aid
At our core we are a professional school of public policy and affairs that prepares tomorrow’s leaders for service in public and non-profit organizations. Supporting our students is our highest priority. The fellowships and scholarships we are able to offer students are critical in making a Humphrey education possible for students with financial challenges and recruiting the most accomplished students regionally and nationally.
This year we are focusing on the Thomas H. Swain Fellowship in Public Leadership, the Martin Sabo Fellowship, and the Alumni Tuition Grant Program.

Endowed faculty chairs
At the Humphrey Institute faculty chairs serve as the cornerstones of our six academic areas. The endowments for these chairs support both the faculty positions and the research and community outreach in the chair holders’ area of expertise.
This year we are focusing on the Walter F. and Joan Mondale Chair for Political Studies and the Charles M. Denny, Jr. Chair for Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy.

Dean’s Strategic Initiative Fund
With such excellent students, faculty and fellows the Dean presented with proposals for intriguing programs, events and activities regularly. Unfortunately, only a select few of these ideas can be realized through the Institute’s annual budget. The Dean’s Strategic Initiative Fund provides additional private funding to support exceptional projects at the Dean’s discretion.
