| ADVISORY COUNCIL
Charter
On September 9, 1977 the Regents of the University of Minnesota in fondness, gratitude, and in honor of its distinguished alumnus, Hubert H. Humphrey, formally renamed the University of Minnesota School of Public Affairs the Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs.
At that time, it was agreed that the Institute should strive to be the most distinguished school of public affairs in the country. In order to fulfill its mission effectively, it is essential that the Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs maintain a strong relationship with the international, national, and local communities it serves. Accordingly, an Advisory Council was established.
The Advisory Council functions are to:
- Examine issues relating to the programs of the Institute.
- Advise and assist the Dean of the Humphrey School and staff in identifying the needs of government, citizens of the region, and society as a whole, relative to the programs of the Institute.
- Evaluate programs and plans of the Humphrey School and provide feedback.
- Promote public understanding of the Institute and its programs.
- Provide annual financial support, consistent with each Advisory Council member’s means, to the Institute.
