The Humphrey School offers unique meeting and event spaces for University of Minnesota departments and colleges as well as the wider community. From our three-tiered Cowles Auditorium to the sky-lit Atrium to our numerous flexible conference rooms, the Conference Center can accommodate groups and gatherings of many sizes. The Conference Center is handicapped accessible.

Cowles Auditorium

Cowles Auditorium, carpeted with tiered theater-style seating, accommodates up to 250 guests in an intimate setting. The back wall of the stage doubles as a projection screen. Studio lighting, three-camera video recording (MP4 format), video conferencing, and live streaming of your event are among the audiovisual capabilities and equipment available at additional charge.

Atrium

Atrium

The Atrium is included with rental of the Cowles Auditorium. A large three-story, sky-lit space, the atrium is ideal for receptions, meetings, dinners, and luncheons. Clients may select their own caterer. The rental fee for the auditorium/atrium includes: auditorium podium & microphone, and auditorium LCD projector.

Wilkins Room

Wilkins Room (215) Square Configuration

Wilkins Room is a sunlit and spacious area for seminars, retreats, and meetings. The walls are decorated with photographs from the career of Roy Wilkins, civil rights leader and NAACP executive secretary from 1955 to 1977. Tables and chairs can be arranged boardroom or classroom style. The Wilkins room has video conferencing capabilities. Standard room equipment includes LCD projector, whiteboard, and screen. Refreshments can be served in this room.

Stassen Room 170

Room 170

This room overlooks the Atrium and contains artifacts from the long political career of former Minnesota Governor Harold Stassen. Tables and chairs can be arranged boardroom or classroom style.

Conference Room 180

Room 180

With 60 chairs and 20 tables, this space is ideal for seminars and lectures and can accommodate a variety of table/chair configurations. This spacious room is equipped with a ceiling-mounted LCD projector, fixed podium with microphone and a large whiteboard on wheels. Refreshments can be served in this room.

This space is furnished with tables and rolling chairs. Tables and chairs can be arranged boardroom or classroom style. Standard room equipment includes overhead LCD projector, flipchart easel, whiteboard, and screen. Refreshments can be served in this room.

Humphrey Forum

Humphrey Forum

With large museum displays on every wall, the Humphrey Forum chronicles the life and career of Hubert H. Humphrey. The  Forum is ideal for roundtable discussions, small lectures, luncheons, and receptions. The large open space allows for a variety of furniture configurations ranging from a classic lecture to an intimate dinner reception. The room is equipped with a 65” LCD flat screen monitor with computer hook-up for video or other presentations. A sound system, podium with microphone and lapel microphone are included in the rental fee.
